What’s your blog all about? The Sweet Painted lady showcases my love for local small business, vintage style, beauty ( I’m a qualified hair and makeup artist ) sprinkled with some family posts.
Why did you start blogging? I began blogging eight years ago as a way to adjust to living in a new city and to get to now new people, that has since evolved to providing me with a creative outlet in the evenings, sharing what I love and teaming up with some creative individuals.
What is your favourite part about blogging? I love that I am documenting family life and at the same time being part of a supportive and very creative community. I also find a simple joy in writing down thoughts and words.
How do you manage juggling family life with blogging? Fortunately I’m a night owl so once our little man is settled in for the night I like to grab a glass of wine, my note book, laptop and set in for a night of writing, researching, scheduling, writing columns etc. I like to get out of the house to shoot images for my blog while our boy is at creche part time, this works well as I can also run errands at the same time.
Any advice to new/other bloggers? Blog what you love/know and what you would love to read! That way your not stressing over content all the time.
