What’s your blog all about?
I’m a South-African born stay at home mum, married for 5 years to a NZ born Samoan man. My husband has been studying for most of the time we’ve been married, training to be a teacher. I started blogging about my first son, but after a while, wanted to write about more. My blog is about me, motherhood, my cross-cultural marriage, my challenges, struggles and joys….my life, really.
Why did you start blogging?
My first son was particularly challenging in many ways. A friend gave me a book called “Raising my Spirited Child” and then it all made sense. He’s a full on, turbo-charged little boy. So I started blogging about the challenges I faced with him and the good times too, and it evolved from there.
What is your favourite part about blogging?
Blogging is like keeping a journal of your kids lives. You are able to write about things you would otherwise forget. Also love the blogging community, and being a part of other mums’ lives, seeing how they do things, getting good ideas and advice.
How do you manage juggling family life with blogging?
I blog at night or when my kids are asleep. Sometimes I don’t have time but that’s ok, I don’t pressure myself.
Any advice to new/other bloggers?
Anything goes, do what YOU like, enjoy it. If it’s a chore then something needs to change.
