What’s your blog all about?
I’m a thirty-something Kiwi Mummy, working full-time as well as being both a wife and mummy. I sometimes feel like a bit of an alien though, as I’m kinda in a different space to most of the other lovely stay-at-home mummies whose blogs I read.
The blog is just a bit of fun, whatever is on my mind at the time. And a great way to record all the special, funny, and challenging moments in life that you’d otherwise forget!
I like to think it is a ‘through the looking glass’ into our lives.
Why did you start blogging?
Our family is spread far and wide and this was a really easy way for them to keep up with our adventures. When on maternity leave earlier this year, I started regularly following other blogs and posting more myself. The invention of KMB has helped me discover so many fantastic and creative blogs, so thanks!
The blog is now much more than a weekly round-up for the family around the planet which is where it started three years ago. It has definitely inspired me to be more creative in my daily life.
What is your favourite part about blogging?
I love thinking up blog posts that are funny, creative or thought-provoking. And taking photos and choosing ones that really tell a story.
How do you manage juggling family life with blogging?
I’m not a stereotypical Kiwi Mummy Blogger since I work full-time outside the home (as does hubby). It’s a real challenge trying to squeeze the most we can out of every little minute we do have together as a family so weekends in particular are very precious. I try to only blog in the evenings once the boys are in bed.
That said, I frequently stay up far too late, so I need to be way more disciplined on that front! A tired mummy does not equal a very useful mummy!
Any advice to new/other bloggers?
The main thing is being true to yourself and the reasons you started blogging. I think it is very easy to get caught up in the hype of getting new followers and wanting to feel ‘popular’. I have to remind myself from time to time that I should write my blogs exactly the same way even if I was the only one who ever read it.

Enjoying the Small Things – Kelle’s perspective on life as a mom of 2 including her new baby Nella who has Downs Syndrome is nothing short of inspiring.
Catching the Magic – reading Sarah’s blog was what first got me inspired to create a blog for our family. Over the years I’ve plagiarized many an idea on how to display photos and videos from her site.
Great Fun 4 Kids – Simone’s posts are always fab whether they make me laugh out loud or shed a tear, every one is different.
