What’s your blog all about?
I am a chef, jewellery designer and mother of two beautiful kids. My blog is where I write about the things I love; my family, food and recipes, my vege garden and how we have coped living with food intolerances. I am a lifelong vegetarian who now eats mostly gluten and dairy-free.

Why did you start blogging?
To share all that I have learnt about going gluten and dairy-free since having kids. Also to reignite my passion for food and cooking.

What is your favourite part about blogging?
Being able to combine my love of food, writing and photography. And having other people learn from it and enjoy it! Also connecting with people from all over the world is pretty damn cool.

How do you manage juggling family life with blogging?
I would be lying if I said it’s easy. Sometimes it’s not. There are times I wish I had more time to devote to blogging, but my role as a mother definitly has to come first. I cook, photograph and blog mostly when the kids are having a nap, or late at night when I should be sleeping! Sometimes if I really need time to cook/photograph a dish, my partner takes the kids out for an hour or so on one of his days off.

Any advice to new/other bloggers?
Set realistic goals for your blog, like 1-2 posts a week. So you don’t always feel the pressure to be blogging daily. Be realsitic with the time that you can devote to it. Always put your kids first. And if you find you are spending way too much time on the computer, set aside a few days a week completely computer-free. Think long and hard about posting photos of your kids. I had intended on posting the odd one ( I do still, just not full face photos, or any half naked ones!), until I had 7 google searches with the words “naked kids swimming” showing up on my dashboard. Ekk. Remember that everything you blog about can be viewed by all. The good and the bad.

Top 3 favourite posts from your blog?
Brothers, a sister, two kids, two mums and family treasure
speckled kiwi mesquite cookie recipe
babaganosh recipe and a galloway family reunion of sorts

Top 3 favourite blogs?
101cookbooks
gluten-free girl
chefecomilf

I don’t read any blogs daily (who has the time!?) but these three I’d check at least weekly. If it wasn’t for Heidi Swanson and her 101cookbooks blog I don’t think I would have ever considered starting my own. Gluten-free girl and the chef is such an amazing and inspiring blog for us gluten-free’s.And ecomilf is an amazing mummy blog (based in sydney, Australia), and a great resource for those of us who like to live as naturally as possible
